IBTronic Drillbox: Spelsberg

IBTronic XL Drillbox

For subsequent installation in prefabricated ceilings of 45-70 mm

With the two versions of the drill box from our IBTronic XL series, architects, developers and builders, can respond flexibly to changes in the luminaire installation plans.

Firstly, there is the IBTronic XL Drillbox and the IBTronic XL Drillbox 150.

Drillbox 150

The Drillbox 150 has a Fermacell panel that can be opened up to 100 mm after assembly. A problem-free subsequent installation of larger lights is now possible. Installation is as easy and safe as it is with the IBTronic XL, the only difference being that it is carried out later with a core hole drill while still delivering a clean result. With an installation height of up to 110 mm and a maximum lamp power of 50W, the Drillbox 150 is designed in such a way that it offers enough space for a convenient installation and at the same time offers maximum economy of space.

Drillbox

The Drillbox is intended for down spots. Installation is extremely simple, as a hole of 82mm is required here, which can easily be drilled with a suitable power drill.
The opening in the ceiling is also sufficient for the introduction of a transformer without significantly affecting the statics. Just like its big sister, the Drillbox 150, this Drillbox has 8 integrated pipe entries with knockout membrane entries, which are designed for both smooth and corrugated M20 and M25 pipes. Integrated strain relief and pipe stoppers ensure safe installation of the pipes and simple through-wiring. The retaining springs of the lights with a ceiling cut-out with a diameter of 76 mm are locked in a two-part adapter. Finally, the light unit is pushed into the housing until the light cover ring (85mm) is flush with the ceiling.

The universal installation housings for subsequent assembly and installation in prefabricated ceilings with a thickness of 45 and 70 mm are suitable for the installation of low-voltage, high-voltage, and LED lights, as well as loudspeakers
The luminaires are positioned using a center hole. The core hole for the drill box 150  is then drilled into the precast ceiling from above. In the case of the drill box, it is advisable to drill the holes by hand from below in order to avoid breakouts.

In the next step, the luminaire housing is attached to the prefabricated ceiling using dowels and the piping can be installed.

The housings can be connected to one another via up to eight integrated conduit entries for smooth and corrugated conduits. Integrated pipe stoppers and strain relief ensure safe handling even during the concreting process. The lines can be introduced via membranes that can be knocked out with this being carried out above the prefabricated ceiling Both IBTronic XL Drillbox types are suitable for the installation of VDE-tested lights according to DIN EN 60598 and with F or MM marking with a maximum lamp power of 50 watts.
Neither of the variants requires any additional formwork or supports for subsequent installation and subsequent concreting, meaning that no additional material is required on the construction site.
