Supported by its parent company, Spelsberg ELS, one of the largest and most respected manufacturers of non-metallic electrical enclosures in Europe, Spelsberg UK has always been a popular choice for engineers and installers looking for high-quality enclosure solutions. But, with market conditions changing, Spelsberg UK wanted to ensure it offered greater value to its customers. Over the past five years the company has invested in new facilities and machine tools while also expanding its team, making it more than a simple supplier.
With three on-site CNC machines, a dedicated assembly line and an in-house technical sales and support helpline, Spelsberg is now able to offer a personal service and deliver bespoke solutions to its customers. This has helped it respond to the shifting market conditions as it is able to help customers from any industry specify a perfect solution to any application.
Chris Lloyd, Managing Director of Spelsberg UK, explains: “Just like everyone else, we’ve had quite a few surprises in 2015, with traditionally strong markets underperforming compared to expectations at the start of the year. However, because we’re able to work flexibly with our customers and can quickly design and deliver bespoke solutions we’ve been able to enter into new markets while modifying the services we provide to our traditional customers.”
The strategy has proven successful and Spelsberg is planning on continuing its pattern of growth in the new year. Updates to the machining and assembly facilities will be made to further speed up the delivery of custom orders, while the in-house technical sales team will be increased.
Chris adds: “The ‘Pro-Active’ sales service was a new addition for 2015 that has worked incredibly well. New and existing customers are able to call up the office and speak to someone with technical knowledge who can assist them with their query and process an order straight through to the warehouse. All of our customers have been extremely positive about the service which is why we’ve made the decision to expand the team.
