Data centres are a key focus for Spelsberg, and Michael will support OEMs and electrical contractors as well as data centre management in the selection and integration of high durability and fire-protected enclosures. Spelsberg’s range of polycarbonate housings can protect critical electrical connections and devices for up to 90 minutes in the event of a fire, supported by IP66 protection.
Based in Bedfordshire but covering the UK and Ireland, Michael will also support designers as well as electrical contractors and installers across industries including the rail sector, water and waste-water treatment, as well as energy, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences. Engineering firms diversifying into net zero, carbon capture, and hydrogen services will also be included within Spelsberg’s industrial focus.
Michael has considerable industry experience with a previous role that focused on labelling and identification products for global oil and gas projects. Michael then moved to a manufacturer of engineered cable management products and associated support systems. Michael spent three years in Houston, Texas, working across oil & gas and tech projects, partnering with design engineers and electrical contractors to deliver electrical connections in demanding environments.
Most recently, Michael managed data centre projects in the UK for a global electrical distributor that specialises in industrial and hazardous area electrical products.
“My focus is to work with electrical design and installation stakeholders at data centres and across tech and industrial projects in the UK and Europe,” says Michael. “Spelsberg is a trusted brand, providing reliable and durable enclosures that are easy to work with. I look forward to presenting the Spelsberg suite of products and engineering services to partners across industry.”
“Michael has a great deal of experience working in electrical power distribution in industry sectors such as data centres and oil & gas, partnering with stakeholders ranging from electrical installers through to design engineers,” says Chris Lloyd, Managing Director, Spelsberg UK. “This makes Michael well equipped to support our partners in these crucial industries by specifying premium industrial enclosures and advising on the range of engineering services we provide, including customisation and bespoke design.”
